Quotes: Providence coach Scot Gurgol, “Today was a great way to celebrate our lone senior, Nolan Carrico, for Senior Day. The team had a lot of energy in them today and played hard for their captain. Will Andres is playing his best tennis of the season right now. Number two doubles is a new combination for our team. They needed the first set to get comfortable with each other and a new strategy. Once they figured it out, they played great doubles.”

Notes: Providence wins Ben Davis Tournament.

Quotes: Providence Coach Terri Purichia, “Today’s competition was very good for us. We had to play hard every point and work to stay focused for the entire match. Our serving today was excellent, and we were able to keep some really good teams out of system for a good portion of the day. We had a slow start in our first match against McCutcheon, but we were able to turn things around. The win against Burris was a big step for us mentally. Burris is a name this team has heard a great deal about recently, so to have an opportunity to play such a storied program and come away with a hard fought victory, was a confidence boost. I was really proud of our team in the last two sets for putting forth a great effort. This was a great tournament to win.”

    Next: Providence hosts Charlestown, today.
