COLLEGE TENNIS: IU Southeast women open conference with 6-3 win

NEW ALBANY — The IU Southeast women’s tennis team opened conference play Saturday with a 6-3 win over Brescia.

The Grenadiers (1-1, 1-0 KIAC) picked up two doubles points to open the match. The No. 1 team of Katie Walsh and Whitney Batliner defeated Brescia’s Jana Lindenthal and Dakota Durrett 8-6 and the No.3 team of Katherine Clark andKatie Morrison topped Emily Hellinger and Leanne Myers 8-2.

Though the top two singles players lost for IU Southeast, the rest of the lineup picked up singles victories in straight sets.
