> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
The Silver Creek girls’ basketball team defeated Clarksville, 58-24 at Silver Creek on Wednesday night.
Leading for the Dragons were Lexi McFarland and Alex Tinsley.
“We want to set the tone early for the game,” Silver Creek coach Scott Schoen said. “We want to bring the fight to the [opponent].”
Silver Creek had a strong first half, leading 30-6 at the break. They keep the momentum going and controlled the pace of the second half.
Schoen said he was pleased with the way his team played.
“We shared the ball real well,” he said.
In the second half, Clarksville stepped up their game and put more points on the scoreboard. Toward the end of the third quarter, Clarksville’s a Gabby Evans bucket got the Generals within 40-10.
“Clarksville made some adjustments and they set some screens,” Schoen said.
Silver Creek (4-1) will be in back in action Saturday for a big Mid-Southern Conference game at Corydon Central. Clarksville (2-5) hosts Rock Creek on Tuesday.
