Project embraces community’s spirit following tornadoes

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Our community was changed forever on March 2, 2012, when two tornadoes ripped through Southern Indiana, leaving miles of destruction and sadness in their paths. The recovery has only just begun, but the community is stronger than ever.

The News and Tribune has produced a special publication to mark the journey our hometowns have taken since that day just more than four months ago. “Unbroken” is a visual trip through this community’s efforts in the minutes, days and weeks following those storms.

The publication is available beginning today for $9.95 at several locations throughout Southern Indiana. A portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit disaster relief efforts.

Locations include:

• Perkfection in Jeffersonville

• News and Tribune office in Jeffersonville

• JayC Food Store in Sellersburg

• Tanner’s in Henryville

• IGA in Henryville

• Jay C Food Store in Charlestown

• Charlestown Library

• Decker’s in Charlestown

• Destination’s Booksellers in New Albany

• News and Tribune office in New Albany

• Jay C Food Store in Floyds Knobs.
