UPDATE: IUS issues 'all clear' after gunman alert

Theater student found with BB gun

NEW ALBANY — The alert of an armed person on the Indiana University Southeast campus has been lifted after police officials identified a theater student with a BB gun.

Campus administration has an issued an all clear.

An prior alert on IU Southeast’s website warned of a possible armed person on campus.

The alert stated:

“An armed individual has been reported on campus. Trust your instincts and take safe shelter in the nearest available room and lock the door, if possible. Remain in place until the police, or a campus administrator known to you, gives the ‘all clear.’”
