JEFFERSONVILLE — A worker who was injured Saturday after falling into one of the columns on the downtown crossing portion of the Ohio River Bridges Project has been cleared for work, Walsh Construction spokesperson Clair Nichols said.
Nichols said the worker sustained relatively minor injuries after an 8-12 foot fall while working on a ladder in Tower 4 and was treated at University of Louisville Hospital.
Jeffersonville Fire Department firefighters were first on the scene to rescue the worker, who has not been identified.
The department received the call at 2:04 p.m. Saturday and had Truck 41 and Engine 41 on the scene within three minutes, Sgt. Justin Ames, JFD public information officer, said.
The confined spaces rescue team checked the worker for injuries before handing the patient over to Louisville emergency responders within 15 minutes of the initial call.
