NEW ALBANY — The New Albany Board of Public Works & Safety approved a plat Tuesday for a four-lot subdivision, called Andres Strip, along Grant Line Road just north of Taco Bell near Indiana University Southeast.
One of the lots already has an interested buyer, Bojangles Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits.
Also at the board meeting Tuesday:
• The Providence Way project will continue until early June. The work is to improve parking and access to Silver Creek along with other amenities. The Providence Way ramp from Spring Street will be closed April 17-20 to motorists.
• The handicap sidewalk ramps are now complete and ready for the grid modernization plan later this year to switch one-way streets downtown to two-way. Work will also begin next week on an improvement project at West First and Main streets.
• The board approved a $29,000 contract for T.A. Ginkins Co. to replace the Watkins Prairie entrance way. The city will continue to replace subdivision markers this year.
• Board of Works President Warren Nash said the board needs to develop a policy to approve what will be placed on street banners before the banners are hung.
“We should know in advance before we approve the banner going up,” he said.
