Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield awarded a grant to Christian Formation Ministries in New Albany for health and wellness initiatives as part of their Interfaith Summit.
Launched in 2020, the summit is an annual event where faith leaders and other community organizations from across the state come together to help improve the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of all Hoosiers. This year’s theme was Cultivating Hope and Resilience.
Celebrating 17 years of service, Christian Formation Ministries in New Albany is a family ministry providing recovery support for families in Southern Indiana, with an emphasis on helping children of prisoners and addicts.
The Anthem grant will support My Club, a faith-based program designed for the specific needs of children of incarcerated parents and the recently released. My Club creates support and encouragement through activities surrounding character development, spiritual awareness, practical life skills, and supports a healthy vision for the rest of the young person’s life. Four other grants were also awarded by Anthem, one in Fort Wayne, one in Lawrenceburg, and two in the Indianapolis area.
