SOUTHERN INDIANA — Halloween festivities are about to be in full swing in Southern Indiana.

Below is a list of events.

Trick or Treat will be observed in Clark and Floyd counties on Wednesday, Oct. 31:

  • Borden, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Charlestown, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Clarksville, 6 to 9 p.m.
  • New Albany-Floyd County, 6 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Jeffersonville, 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Henryville, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Sellersburg, 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Utica, 6 to 9 p.m.

More Halloween events: 

Friday, Oct. 19


Halloween celebration for the whole family, 6:30 to 8 p.m, Friday, Oct. 19, will be held at the Goodwill Center parking lot, 1329 Applegate Lane, Clarksville.

All are invited to wear costumes (no masks on adults, please) and trick or treat while viewing decorated cars in the parking lot. All kids should be accompanied by an adult. Bring your own bag for candy.

Trunk setup starts at 5:30 p.m. and must be complete by 6:15 p.m. for judging.

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19 and 20


The annual Haunted Woods is from 7:30 p.m. to midnight at the Pepper Upper Club, 10801 Ind. 60, Sellersburg. Admission, adults, $15, kids 12 and under $10, express $2 more. Concessions open at 6:30 p.m.

The Friends of Culbertson Mansion at 914 E, Main St., New Albany, has been preparing this year’s haunted house for the past seven months, and it is sure to spook even the most skeptical participant.

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased the day of the event at the ticketing booths. The haunted house opens at 7 p.m. and closes when the last guest leaves.

Wednesday, Oct. 24


Trunk or Treat Fall Festival is from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Culbertson Baptist Church, 4007 Grant Line Road, New Albany. The evening will include Trunk or Treat, face painting, games and hot dogs.

Thursday, Oct. 25


The Villages at Historic Silvercrest, 1 Silvercrest Drive, New Albany, is sponsor a Trunk or Treat Community Event, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the campus of The Villages of Historic Silvercrest. Events will be held both inside and outside. Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, Oct. 27


Pipes and pumpkins, trick or treat, spooky movie, will all take place beginning at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at St. John Presbyterian Church, 1307 E. Elm St., New Albany.

Music program begins at 2 p.m. Music will include movie themes, spooky songs and other fun selections for all ages. The program is free and open to the public.

Saturday, Oct. 27


Trunk or Treat will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater, 201 E. Water St., New Albany

Saturday, Oct. 27


American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 42, 4530 Paoli Pike, Floyds Knobs, will host a Trunk or Treat for community children in the Post 42 parking lot on Oct. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. Rain cancels.

Sunday, Oct. 28


St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 329 Walnut St., Jeffersonville, will host a Trunk or Treat, 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, in the church parking lot. Come in costume and collect candy around the parking lot.

All children are invited. The event will follow the morning worship service. For more information, contact the church at 812-282-3383.

Monday, Oct. 29


Halloween Downtown will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Big Four Station park, 223 Pearl St., Jeffersonville. Parents bring your children to Historic Downtown Jeffersonville for this fun annual event. Children and parents walk the sidewalks through Big Four Station while downtown merchants give treats to the kids.

Wednesday, Oct. 31


The annual Costume Carnival, Floyd County’s safe alternative to trick or treating, will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Floyd County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2818 Green Valley Road, New Albany.

The event is sponsored by Pat Harrison of REMAX and the Floyd County 4-H. Businesses in the community set up tables and distribute candy. Hot dogs and drinks are served to children who attend and there will be a costume contest, a fishing pond, balloon activities, local mascots and music.

Wednesday, Oct. 31


Truck or Treat will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Charlestown Town Square.
