SOUTHERN INDIANA — The Indiana Department of Transportation will close Interstate 64 left lanes at various locations this weekend — beginning Friday — for cable rail installations.
Eastbound and westbound I-64 left lanes will be impacted between mile markers 99.0 and 108.0. A significant number of restrictions will occur Saturday near Brush Heap Creek (mm 107.0 to 108.0). Operations are weather dependent.
This work is part of a $2 million cable barrier rail system project along sections of Interstate 64 in Crawford, Floyd and Harrison counties.
INDOT officials anticipate all ¾-inch prestressed cable rail runs will be in place by the end of May.
Action Traffic Maintenance is the state’s contractor.
