1) WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FOR THIS OFFICE?

“Mainly, I enjoy serving the public. As your County Auditor from 1995 to 2002, I worked very closely with the New Albany Township Assessor’s office and have the knowledge and experience to maintain the data to keep our assessments fair and equitable, so that our tax rate is set correctly. Also, I have attended many conferences pertaining to assessing Personal and Real Estate property.”

2) WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE THIS POSITION FACES AND WHAT IS YOUR PLAN TO RESOLVE IT?

“Trending to fair market value. This is a very important time in assessment history of Floyd County. We need a person with experience, dedication and ethics to complete the trending to fair market, to be sure that we all receive a fair and equitable assessment. I am that person. Also, we are working on going to a GIS Mapping System, which will benefit us all.

3) WHAT UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION WILL YOU MAKE?

“I have and always will be a dedicated and an accessible elected official. I have approached our Commissioners about putting our information online so that the public may view their assessments from their home or office.”
