NEW ALBANY — New Albany police arrested six people on various drug charges Thursday after receiving a tip that a home on East Oak Street was being used as a “crack house,” police said.

Tips called into the NAPD Crime Line, which is two days away from celebrating its one-month anniversary, led police about 1:30 p.m. to 1602 E. Oak St., where they arrested 29-year-old Tiffany Hutchins, 37-year-old Robert Brooks, 24-year-old Charles Barker, 51-year-old Joseph Powell, 41-year-old Kristina Barker and 56-year-old and Larry Barker.

Officer Todd Bailey said Larry Barker, Kristina Barker and Charles Barker were all related and living at the home. Powell and Hutchins were not related to the Barkers but appeared to also be living in the home.

Brooks gave police an address of 1420 Ekin Ave.

They were all booked into Floyd County Jail on various drug charges including possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and various outstanding warrants.
