CLARK COUNTY — Two people were arrested after police responded to a burglary in progress at a Henryville church Wednesday.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office responded to Henryville Community Church on Lake Road around 11:50 p.m., according to a news release. When police arrived, the church door was ajar. Police searched the building and located two men, Kristopher Lucas and Jonathan Lamaster, both 23 years old.

Police found several rooms and offices that had been rummaged through, as well as damaged door handles. Officers also found items inside bags and a missing electric meter from the church.

The investigation continued into the Henryville High School parking lot, where police found a van belonging to Austin Christian Church. Police contacted the Austin church and officials determined the van had been stolen, and the church burglarized.

Lucas and Lamaster both face charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief in Clark County.
