JEFFERSONVILLE — A 26-year-old woman is dead after being crushed by a forklift while working at a local woodcutting facility.
Heather Johnson was pronounced dead at Koetter Woodworking in Jeffersonville about 1:30 p.m. after stepping out in front of a moving forklift, said Detective Charlie Thompson with the Jeffersonville Police Department.
Thompson said they were working with the Clark County Coroner’s Office to piece together exactly what happened but it appeared that it was “a tragic accident,” Thompson said.
