A slew of holiday-related events will kick-off next week in Southern Indiana. Find all the details below.

• Schimpff's Confectionery Holiday Candy Making, Jeffersonville

Nov. 23 and 24, Watch Warren and Jill Schimpff and staff make candy canes and ribbon candy for the holiday season, using the same copper kettle and roll molds that founder Gustav Schimpff used in 1891.

10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Friday (ribbon candy) and Saturday (candy canes).

Schimpff's Confectionery & Candy Museum is located at, 347 Spring St., Jeffersonville. The event is free.

• Light Up Charlestown

Nov. 23 through Jan. 1, Light Up Charlestown, Charlestown Christmas City, downtown Charlestown. Charlestown's animation and lights set to music, carriage and train rides, ice skating, and Santa Claus make “Christmas City” a holiday destination all its own. Festivities begin with “Light Up Charlestown” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, in Greenway Park, with lights coming on at 7 p.m.

The Family Activity Park at 1000 Park St., across from Charlestown High School, is the location of the Charlestown Express Train, Ice Skating Rink, miniature golf and visit with Santa. The park is open Monday through Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m. Santa will be at the park Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during park hours and he will be there the whole week of Dec. 17 through 22. The park will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

• Holiday Fest, New Albany

Nov. 24: Celebrate the season with this family-friendly event featuring a scavenger hunt, a photo booth at the Carnegie Center for Art and History, 201 E. Spring St., New Albany, and ornament painting at Uptown Art. The YMCA will have a children's program from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Celebrate the season at Bicentennial Park's “Fest” at 6 p.m. with caroling and a tree lighting ceremony. The event is free.

• Jingle Walk, New Albany

Develop New Albany will present the 11th annual Jingle Walk on Saturday, Nov. 24. This year's event includes 13 local wineries which will be serving wine samples in 13 local downtown businesses from 2 to 6 p.m. Each participant will receive a wine glass at registration and a booklet containing a map of the wine stops to plan their route. Purchase your tickets before the day of the event and receive a free wine bag at registration. Tickets are $25 for general admission tickets. Tickets will be sold the day of the event and participants will receive only the wine glass. Tickets can be purchased online at www.developna.org. Click on Event Tickets and you will be taken to the registration page.

Saturday, Nov. 24, is also Small Business Saturday.

• Light Up Jeffersonville

Nov. 24, Light Up Jeffersonville. Kick off the holiday season with this annual holiday event showcase. The fun begins with train rides, inflatables, live entertainment, hot chocolate and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The parade will run in historic downtown Jeffersonville on Spring Street between Market and Seventh streets. The Christmas North Pole Party will be from 4-6 p.m. with the Holiday Lights Parade at 6 p.m., followed by Light Up Jeffersonville in Warder Park. The event is free, with food available for purchase.

• Light Up Sellersburg

Dec. 1, Wilkerson Park, Sellersburg, next to the Police Station. Santa will arrive at 6:15 p.m. Enjoy the holiday music, eat a cookie or two and tell Santa what you want for Christmas.

• Christmas Cookie Stroll

Dec. 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., downtown Jeffersonville. Stroll along Spring Street and samples holiday cookies from the different stores. This event, sponsored by Jeffersonville Main Street, requires a ticket. For information call 812-283-0301.

• Snacks With Santa

Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Vintage Fire Museum, 723 Spring St., Jeffersonville. Visit with Santa and enjoy the holiday season. For more information call 812-282-4705

• Old Fashioned Christmas

Dec. 8, noon to 4 p.m. in downtown New Albany, sponsored by Develop New Albany Inc. An afternoon of holiday fun for the family.

• Christmas at the Howard Steamboat Museum

Dec. 9, Howard Steamboat Museum, 1101 E. Market St., Jeffersonville, family Christmas celebration, 1 to 4 p.m.

Get into the holiday spirit at the historic 1894 mansion turned museum of Jeffersonville's ship building family. Enjoy the holiday decorations, refreshments and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

• Holiday Bash and Snow Throw

Holiday Bash and Snow Throw, 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 15, at Silver Street Park, 2043 Silver St., New Albany.
