Lack of Hall of Fame ad disappointing

On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Brien Hanley and Cory Norman were on the 2019 Silver Anniversary Team at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame (HOF). Every person honored at the HOF was congratulated by their high school with a full page ad, except Brien Hanley and Cory Norman from Jeffersonville High School.

I know the Jeffersonville High School athletic department may have financial problems; however, they could have spent $200 on an ad to honor these young men or asked for donations for the ad if they could not afford it. As a parent of one of the team members, former teacher at JHS and a resident of Jeffersonville, I am embarrassed.

If we have others honored in the future, I hope JHS athletic department does a better job of honoring them. I would like to thank Coach Mike Broughton and his wife Pat for their words of encouragement in their ad for Brien and Cory.

Give me that old time Declaration of Independence; It was good enough for Thomas, it was good enough for Jefferson, so please don't tread on me.

Give me that old time Bill of Rights; It's good enough for me, it was good enough James, it was good enough for Madison, so please, don't tread on me.

Give me that old time Constitution; it's good enough for me, it was good enough for George, it was good enough for Washington, so please don't tread on me.

Solitary, struggling social artist I might be; I am no victim, not too blind, can clearly see, 200 years these challenged documents are keeping us free, so please, don't tread on me.

Believing with God Blessing our Nation if you agree; can't as united peaceful individual voters faithfully β€œLet It Be.” So please, humbly, don't tread on you or me.
