BOONVILLE — Floyds Knobs Post 42 won four straight games — one Friday night, two Saturday and one Sunday — before losing in the final of the double-elimination Boonville Regional tournament.

After falling 11-7 to host Boonville Post 200 late Thursday, Post 42 outlasted Rockport 10-7 Friday night. Recent Jeffersonville graduate Jack Ellis led Floyds Knobs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Also for Post 42, Luke Stock was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Blake Barrett went 2-for-3 and Blayden McMahel was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Floyds Knobs then beat Madison Post 9 17-7 in its first game Saturday. Ellis and Stock had three hits — a single, double and homer — apiece while McMahel and Barrett also added a pair of hits.

Post 42 followed that win up with an 11-4 triumph over Jasper Post 147. Barrett led the way at the plate with a trio of hits, including a pair of home runs. Devyn Rivers and Stock added a home run and a hit apiece while Drew Taylor tallied a pair of doubles.

Floyds Knobs then beat Boonville 11-0 behind a complete-game shutout by Ben Harbeson early Sunday afternoon.

In the winner-take-all championship game a two-out single lifted Boonville to an 11-10 win.
