JEFFERSONVILLE — A pair of five-run frames helped the Silver Creek 12U All-Star team to a 13-4 win over Charlestown on Monday night in District 5 play at Jeff/GRC Little League.

Silver Creek scored five runs in the first inning and five more in the third to go along with two in the second and one in the fifth to improve to 2-0 in pool play.

It will face fellow unbeaten New Albany at 5:30 p.m. today.

Garrett Titzer had a pair of hits — including a two-run home run — to lead Charlestown (0-3) at the plate.

HYR, SILVER CREEK WIN

In the first 10U game, HYR jumped out to a 9-0 lead, tallying two runs in the first and seven in the second, en route to a 13-3 win over Charlestown.

Noah Baker had a trio of hits to lead HYR at the plate.

In the nightcap, Silver Creek built a 10-4 lead then held off New Albany's comeback for an 11-9 win.

SOFTBALL

Monday night's 10U games — Charlestown vs. Clarksville and Jeff/GRC vs. New Albany — were postponed due to rain. Those games will be made up Wednesday night.
