IU Southeast tops Taylor by 20

Indiana University Southeast defeated Taylor University at the IUS Activities Building on Friday night, 69-49.

Courtney Gilstrap, Meagan Mineer and Ashley May each scored 10 points for the Grenadiers. Andrea Chambers added eight, while Christina DeMaio and Kayla Rieckers had seven apiece.

IUS (7-3) shot 42 percent overall to Taylor’s 28 percent, and the Grenadiers made 72 percent at the free-throw line (13-of-18) to the visitors’ 48 percent (14-of-29).

IU Southeast returns to action Tuesday hosting St. Mary of the Woods at 7 p.m.

Stewart scores 21 in KWC win

Jeffersonville graduate Lauren Stewart scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds Thursday, helping Kentucky Wesleyan College to a 83-68 win over Lewis at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Stewart shot 7-of-16 from the field and connected on 4-of-7 attempts from 3-point range. The Panthers upped their record to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

KWC will be back in action on Sunday visiting Nova Southeastern.
