Jeffersonville High School graduate Drew Campbell, who recently completed his junior season with the University of Louisville, signed to play professional baseball with the Atlanta Braves on Friday. Campbell was selected in the 23rd round (697th overall) of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft in June. 

Former Jeffersonville High School graduate Drew Campbell, who recently completed his junior season with the University of Louisville, officially became a professional baseball player Friday, when he signed with the Atlanta Braves. 

Campbell was selected by the Braves in the 23rd round (697th overall) of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft in June. 

The outfielder hit .309 with 15 doubles, two home runs and 39 RBIs while scoring 30 runs this season for the Cardinals, who were eliminated by eventual national champion Vanderbilt in the College World Series. Campbell was at his best in the postseason — hitting .455 during the NCAA Tournament and .462 (6-for-13) at the CWS en route to making the All-CWS tourney team.
